Tips for Using Vegetables in Green Smoothies






How many of you love smoothies? How many of you love green smoothies? Well, most of us are familiar with fruit smoothies. Strawberry and mango are great flavors to be used in smoothies. Green smoothies are also very refreshing drinks and tasty. However, lime, mint and tomatoes are some vegetables that can be used with green smoothies.
If you have a craze and taste for leafy green smoothie, you can add a flavor of mint and spinach to it too. Why not try adding some celery to the green drink?
Before you start making green smoothie, make sure that you follow some amazing tips. Else your smoothie would be a total failure in terms of taste and freshness.  Don’t just throw things into your blender without measuring them. Use measuring cups instead of using random items without any measurement. When you make a green smoothie with measurement, the results would be fantastic.
It is always recommended to first blend or crush the leafy greens and then add the rest of the spices and fruits. Do not mix everything in one single go. Keep on blending again and again to get the best smoothie results.  Also, another tip is to heat the green stuff and fruits give a little in microwave since warm fruits yield more juice. Never use chilled or frozen leafy vegetables or fruits in your green smoothies as they may destroy the blade of your blender. However, in the end, you can top or decorate your green smoothie with frozen cut fruits and crushed ice cubes. It is always very refreshing to top smoothie with chopped mint leaves.
Another tip for making a successful green smoothie is to use natural sugars and flavors in it. Never use processed sugar or cubes in your smoothie as it may destroy the taste of your drink. Use honey or light brown sugar in your drink to make it healthier and more refreshing. If you are a working person and don’t have time to make it in the morning, you can prepare all the smoothie items at night and refrigerate them. When you wake up, you can blend and have your favorite smoothie drink before leaving for office. Smoothies are healthy in nutritious value and keep you energetic.
Another tip for using green vegetables in smoothies is to avoid using very bitter green vegetables as it would make the smoothie bitter in taste. Some forms of spinach are very bitter and must never be used in green drinks. Apart from this, some dried or fresh green herbs can also be added to your smoothies. Herbs like parsley, mint, coriander, celery and tulsi (basil) can also be used in green smoothies. Never use any artificial green color to your drink. Keep it natural. You can also use coconut milk water, almond milk or soya milk to make green smoothies. Using milk and yogurt in smoothies is a traditional way. Lastly, some people find smoothies bitter. You can add some sweeteners to make it tastier.
